I am afraid I have to lead with the news of the passing away of Jacqui Haines, details of the service can be found here:

Although I haven’t seen Jacqui for many years I remember her as a full of life character, a major support to Malcolm whilst he was in office at the club, our thoughts go out to him and all her family.

The painting day this Saturday has been postponed due to the training match, which I understand is also in doubt.

Coming up to the start of the season training numbers are excellent, 26 out last night, a mix of new and old faces, I am optimistic about the season ahead.
James tells me that he is not receiving the standing order forms he should be, please ensure you have filled one in for the start of the season or of course you can pay in one go. Standing order forms are available at the club.

A reminder as well that there are plenty of spaces on the bar rota for players. Please have a look at who you want to work with and get your name on the board. As a reminder if you can’t make your week of bar it is your responsibility to arrange cover, Spit may be able to help suggest someone but ultimately it is your job to arrange a swap. Generally you will get someone to help if you start to sort it early enough.

Even after the magnificent performance of Team GB at the Olympics I am not expecting many of our juniors to give up rugby for javelin throwing or archery. I believe training has started for both our junior teams and I will let you know when the new U12’s is starting so that you can send along your progeny
