It is with great sadness that we record the death and announce the funeral details of Derek Howell, a stalwart of the club for more than sixty years.
Derek passed away on Christmas Morning in Gloucester Royal Hospital.
The funeral details are as follows:
Monday 16th January 2017 at 11:00
Upton Parish Church
followed by
cremation at Gloucester Crematorium at 12:00
The family would like everyone to wear sports club ties
Donations in lieu of flowers please to Wyatt House
Everyone invited afterwards to Old Cryptians RFC for the wake

Derek joined the club as a 17-year-old in 1954, held every position on the club's committee and played for all senior teams in a playing career spanning 19 years from 1954 to 1973, including stints captaining both the second and third XVs.
It was even Derek who suggested Old Cryptians made the Memorial Ground – an unused field at the time – our home.
He will be sadly missed by everyone associated with Old Cryptians, who will all have fond memories of a man who gave up so much of his time to the club he held so dear.
