We will be holding the U15 Presentation Night at the club Saturday 6th June from 16:30.

We will be starting with a barbecue, weather permitting, followed by the presentation of awards and a raffle.

We need all the boys along, but just as important it would be good to see their parents, siblings, families and friends to make this a good social event to end a season where the boys have really shown some progress.

Come along and celebrate, especially the families of the boys that have joined recently - a good chance to mix and get to know everybody.

Just to summarise the season, the boys, with lots of new players, had a really tough time up to Christmas, but to their credit they fought their way through it and stuck together.

Through all this you could see improvement as they blended together and they had some very good results in the second half of the season, the highlight being a good win against a good Oldham side on tour, which reflected the very much improved back play, the result of increased training sessions with a strengthened coaching team.

Two things stand out.

  • The dedication of the coaches and boys, who turn out in all weather for coaching sessions, even on cold wet Thursdays in February.
  • The boys as a group, no better example than the tour , when 23 boys stuck together, with hardly a crossed word for three days and were a credit to the club, the coaches and of course their parents.

No more to say about the tour, other than everybody had a great time!

We have spent a lot of money on the boys this year, but with some very kind sponsors and fund raising efforts, especially some of the Mums, we will start the new season with a reasonable amount in the kitty.

Presentation night is a good night to start raising more so please bring along some raffle prizes, cakes go down well, and some snacks to supplement the BBQ.

BUT IT IS A NIGHT TO GET TOGETHER AS FAMILIES SO LET'S HAVE A GOOD TURNOUT!

As Mark has already asked it would be appreciated if you can let us know who will be coming, to give us a good idea of numbers for catering.

ANY HELP OFFERED TO RUN THE BBQ, BAR and RAFFLE would be much appreciated.

I will be putting out the fixture list for next season in the next couple of weeks and we will advise when pre-season training starts.
