Following a number of successful sports tours to Canada, South Africa and Barbados, they are once again taking a senior rugby side to South Africa next summer (July 2019).

Each tour offers a unique opportunity for students to develop and challenge their rugby, alongside experiencing a different country and culture.

As with all of the tours, the school needs to raise money to cover the costs of kit, excursions and other activities while they are in South Africa.

Director of Sports at Crypt and occasional player for Old Cryptians RFC, Ash Bawden is delighted to invite you to join them for their main fundraiser ahead of the tour; an evening with Johan Ackerman and Thinus Delport.

The event is shaping up to be an excellent evening for any rugby fanatic as well as anyone with links to the school. The South African themed evening will be held in the main school hall on Friday 30 th November, 7pm until midnight.

Johan and Thinus will be sharing their tales and memories of South African rugby from their school boy days to becoming a Springbok and how things have changed for them since being based in Gloucestershire.

There will also be a complimentary South African Braai (BBQ), a fully licensed bar, live music from Tux Fizz (starring even more occasional players for Old Cryptians RFC, Chris Quigley and Rich Gills) and a silent auction.

The school is hoping the event will become an opportunity for Old Cryptians and previous Crypt School tours to get together as a reunion as well as current parents and supporters of the school to be part of what promises to be a great night.

Crypt have teamed up with Aitch and Aitch Bee who are a corporate events management company to help publicise and manage ticket sales.

The link between the club and school couldn’t be stronger at the moment and with a number of current U17s going on the tour it would be great to get at least one table from Old Cryptians RFC to support the school at what will be an excellent social occasion, alongside raising money for the forthcoming tour.
