In the next few days we will be asking club members to volunteer to support old and vulnerable people who are self-isolating in the local community. We will therefore be reaching out to the local community and to any of our past or present members and offer the following support:

· Deliver food and collect prescriptions

· Telephone calls to people in isolation.

We've have been in contact with local councillors to discuss where there is the greatest need and as a result we will be looking to offer help in the Podsmead area.

There is an existing community hub that we can work with that has a list of individuals who require help. The intention is that we will set up a WhatsApp group where we will post any requests for help that we receive and people can volunteer if they are available.

In addition they run a weekly foodbank using supermarket donations which is supplemented by a central council fund that buys supplies. They are providing us with an list of essential items they need to help the community, as soon as we have it we'll post it. Any support with this would be hugely appreciated.

This a chance for the club to come together and help people at this difficult time and for us to make a real difference in the local area..
